In 1956, Jules Rossi, an international diving pioneer who had been with Jacques Ives Cousteau in the French Navy during the second world war, started diving activities in Madryn. When he moved to Argentina with his wife and son, he made friends with those who would then be his disciples. He installed in La Boca in Buenos Aires a factory that produced the first fins, masks, snorkels, guns and rubber suits made in Argentina.
In 1956, Jules Rossi travelled along the Atlantic coast and arrived at Golfo Nuevo and Golfo San José.
In 1957, the arrival of the ship "Murature" of the Argentine Navy was a keypoint in the development of subaquatic activities.
A group of pioneers arrived to Golfo Nuevo and started diving. Young people from Madryn added to these submarine adventures and in 1958 founded the first institution devoted to diving, called Club de Buceo de Puerto Madryn. The first neoprene suits were imported from Europe, and then the first diving implements factory, still working today, was installed. |

| ARTIFICIAL SUBMARINE PARK |

| This was the first artificial park organized around the shipwreck of the ship Emma, which belonged to the expedition to Antarctica by Sir Shackleton at the beginning of 1900. Its structure was then enlarged with buses, cars, a boiler and other things. |

| NEW PARK |
