The waves usually seen in these coasts are called fat waves, and have a gentle slope and an average height of 1,5 m. They are normally run with an anticipation of three to four hours before the low tide.
The waves called hollow and tubes, which are hollow and have a pronounced slope, are usually found in the area of the Curva and Puerto Rawson. They are run with a high tide and off shore wind.
Other good areas to surf are the beaches on the south, with tube and hollow waves and shallow waters.
In summer, temperatures are good to perform this activity, but the season may extend if you wear the adequate accesories, being the best time to practise this sport from February to the end of April. |
