Marine Avifauna: Valdés Peninsula is one of the Patagonian coastal main places, in connection with the diversity and abundance of marine fauna. Some of the species that live there or use it as a resting and feeding place are: gulls, small gulls, cormorants, Antarctic dove, bigua, white heron, witch heron, oystercatchers, vapor duck, etc.
The most important species of the province are:

Another difference between sexes is that the males have a great nose, denominated prosboscide. This nose fills out when the animal is irritated, especially in rut periods. The females on the other hand, have a small muzzle. The mating begins in July, when the males arrive at the coast. The females give birth to a single puppy that measures between a meter and a meter and a half, with a weight of forty kilograms. During the rut, the males dispute the forty females harem's primacy. They show their force with gigantic, theatrical and spectacular fights.

The male has a wide neck with manes, strong head and short muzzle. Their ferocious denture, that has developed eyeteeth and molars, stands out. Their members make it difficult for them to move on land, but they are effective swimmers. They are very sociable, they allow people and crafts to come closer to them. Fishes are their exclusive food. When spring is coming they begin meeting at the "loberías", where the males fight ferociously to define the territory that they will occupy with their harem.
