In 1848, in the face of the necessity of creating a school, the General Justo J. of Urquiza ordered to bring brickmakers of the city of Victoria to who commended to lift the building in the corner of the streets Rivadavia and San Martin. When the work was about to end, its brother Cipriano was murdered, leaving an inheritance for the construction of a chapel. Urquiza dedicated this building then to church, under the invocation of San Cipriano Martyr. It inaugurated it June 9 1850.
The building has a simple facade, to which ordered to add a steeple in 1854 Urquiza, in form of symmetrical reed-mace, with three arches of half point. The bells were fused with the brass of canyons used in the battle of Landlords.
In one of them is read TO pest, fame, bellot tempestati liberno domini - 1877 (Of pest, hunger, war and tempest, get rid Mr. - 1877).
Today the building is dedicated to parochial house. The current temple, dedicated to the Virgin from the Merced and built starting from 1899, it is beside the old construction. It was finished partially in 1947 and in definitive form in 1951. In their orderly facade they highlight their two imposing towers and, in their interior, the great central ship.

Inaugurated Municipal Palacio in 1927, the building possesses an unique volume of two plants, with a tower in the ochava, on-line with the diagonal of the square and provided of a clock and of a steeple of fused iron. In the entrance hall the stairway stands out in double height, had in marble, with iron rail.
In the northwest corner of the square it is the Bank Nation Argentina , inaugurated in 1917, according to the engineers' project and architects Ochoa, Medhurst and Thomks, resided in Buenos Aires .
It is located as it finishes off of one of the diagonals of the square and their style is framed inside the French classicism, with profusion of columns, garlands and lockets. Their interior is a great plant living room to circulate, also decorated in style French classic. The building is worked richly, constituting a very good example of a, time in the Argentinean architecture.
To travel the north end of the city, San Martin leave from the square for Alem to Columbus . Turn there to the left and continue for this until the border of the ravine on the Paraná, from where there is an exceptional view of the river and of the islands, ideal to photograph. It is the pride of the city, with a jetty of 200 m on deep waters that allow to receive ships of great soaked. Their storage capacity is of 18.500 rhyme, in 21 silos and 10 entresilos. The hydraulic platform can discharge 450 ton/h, and its maximum volume of shipment is of 800 ton/h and of reception. 360 ton/h.
Continue then for Coastal Av. until the Club Nautical Diamond that has a wide coastal area to camp, besides beaches, tavern, courts for volley, básquet, Creole tennis and soccer, and rent of elements for the practice of nautical sports.
Continuing for Coastal Av., it will go by the Municipal Spa and it will cross the town Strobel, today a neighborhood of Diamond. Turn to the left and, after crossing the stream The Ensenada, will find a road that comes out to the left. Taking for this will arrive at the municipal spa and the camping site it Fences of the Ensenada , beside the stream of the same name. It has a surrounded artificial lake of trees, with bottom of sand and constant renovation of water. It possesses quinchos, grills, bungalows, stores and sectors for sports, fishing, cavalcades and motos.
To visit the south riverside of the city, return for the same road to the square San Martin, continue for Alem until Andrade, turn to the right and when finishing the road will meet with Fat Tip (SHN), I siege with a beautiful view to the islands and interesting fishing place, mainly in the old port.
Return to Alem and turn to the right. Continue until their term, where the cemetery are and, behind, the scenario Martin Iron.
There is carried out the National Festival of Jineteada and Folklore. Then continue two blocks for Falucho to take to the left an on the way to earth that runs parallel to the ravines and very near to the river Paraná. After 6 km it will arrive at the National Park Predelta La Azotea |

This journey can only be carried out when the river is not grown. In a rainy day it is better to take the paved road of the square for Urquiza until Serrano that then continues for Ramírez and The Florida until leaving the city. Follow the posters señalizadores and it will arrive at the National Park, the last one created in the Republic Argentina, for National Law N° 24.063 of December 20 1991.
The park understands a tract of the river Paraná, with a peninsula of costs anegadizas, and a great quantity of islands like The Sleeve, Ceibo, of the Mud and others. The most important riachos is Old Vapor, where an English ship collapsed; The Sleeves, for the sleeves or bretes to embark or to disembark animals; it Takes out Shorts, for the drafty thing; and the stream The Roof.
There are three versions to explain the origin of the name The Roof: a related with the habit of whipping the animals to throw them to the water and to begin the crossing to an island; the other one for a mansion, built at the end of the XIX century for Englishmen that it had a great terrace (roof) to take the tea and, the last one, for the marked next ravine to the place.
In the park offers a safari in crafts that goes into for the streams and it allows to travel the islands to horse. There are also a rural camping site, a police posse and a pantry with public telephone.
The predelta is the beginning of a group of islands formed by the contribution of silts carried by the river Paraná and its tributaries, with three very defined atmospheres: the albardón, the highest area; the lagoon, mirror of free water; and the one taken a bath, low areas and inundables.
In the albardones the dense forest grows in gallery, with Creole sallow, timbó, ceibo, laurel, I plane, cupupi and it whips horses. Toward the one taken a bath straw, cortadera, chilca and pirí, it is observed as long as in the lagoon the camalote, the cabbage of water and the tube grow.
The poultry fauna is very varied, being ducks, caraús, chajaes, storks, carpenters, etc. thanks to the protection and recovery of the park carpinchos exists, otters, lizards, lampalaguas or curuyúes, vipers, turtles, river wolves and, in time of much growing, yacarés ñatos. In the riachos, as long as, the fauna icticola is very varied, with sábalos, golden, surubies, pattes, vogues, armed and pacúes. |

National festival of Jineteada and Folklore is carried out for more than twenty years in January, during three nights, in the field Martin Fierro. It includes popular song with poetries, it tames and Creole jineteada. |
