Originating of France , it adapted to all the climates of the world and is the king of Bordeaux . Their classic aroma to pepper, cassis, cedar or licorice gives wines tánicos and of certain acidity that need some time to be softened.

Historically associated to the big wines of Bordeaux , it is the variety it tints more grateful in the world. This is due to the particular adaptation of this stump in different regions vitivinícolas without losing their tipicidad and essence.

It produces a rich wine in tannins and colored that often mixes with other varieties less tánicas like Merlot or Cabernet Franc. These wines of youths are rough and hard, for what will thank an upbringing in oak or aging in bottle to tame their consistent structure.

In Argentina it is cultivated from Salta to Río Negro giving potent wines, of pleasant aromas and you notice that remember to red fruits, black fruits, green pepper and spices.

In Mendoza it is developed well in the areas of Agrelo, Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, Lulunta and Vistalba.
 

The food

 

Mainly red meats. Padded peppers. With stews that accompany pastas, one choose without upbringing. Very mellow stews. A male goat to the spit or meats to the grill is excellent company for this variety.
