Native of the area of Bordeaux in France , it is cultivated in the whole world with big gustatory variations. If the climate is cold comes closer to the sauvignon, and in hotter climates it loses personality. It is very sensitive to the rain and the humidity. In Argentina it occupies an important place as for cultivation surface, but in their form varietal there are only two regions where it is expressed with levels of quality, the Valley of Uco in Mendoza and the High valley of Río Negro . The obtained wines are dry and complex with interesting notes to honey
